Hurricane Laura: Trump tours storm-ravaged areas in Louisiana, delivers remarks

U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday visited areas of Lake Charles, La. ravaged by Hurricane Laura with city and state officials.

Trump visited a warehouse where relief supplies are being stocked and organized for distribution.

He also went to a devastated neighbourhood where trees and power lines had fallen, damaging houses.

The storm killed at least 10 people in Louisiana, including four who were killed when trees fell into homes, damaged buildings in Louisiana and Texas and knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of residents.

At its peak upon making landfall on Thursday morning, Laura had maximum sustained winds of 150 mph (241 kph), faster than even Hurricane Katrina, which sparked deadly levee breaches in New Orleans in 2005 after arriving with wind speeds of 125 mph.
